Resumo : This dissertation explores the application of Critical State Soil Mechanics (CSSM) through the NorSand model, specifically focusing on the numerical integration of linear strain paths using 8th order Runge-Kutta methods. The NorSand model, an extension of CSSM, provides a comprehensive framework for understanding soil behavior under various loading conditions, crucial for geotechnical engineering. The primary objective of this research is to enhance the predictive accuracy and computational efficiency of soil behavior models by integrating advanced numerical methods. This study presents a detailed formulation of the NorSand model, evaluates the performance of the 8th order Runge-Kutta integration method, and compares it to the traditional Euler method through triaxial test simulations. The findings indicate that the Runge-Kutta method offers superior precision and stability, which will allow implementation of more accurate finite element formulations in future works.
