The activities of production and exploration of oil and natural gas wells begin with the discovery of reservoirs and may extend for decades. The first oilfield projects were designed to have a long life cycle. When economically recoverable reserves have already been extracted and the economic cash ow from production is no longer attractive, the abandonment phase begins. The proposal of this work is studies a method for the abandonment phase, more specifically the technique of definitive abandonment of offshore wells in Brazil using a filtration method. A recent process for permanent well abandonment projects is the rock melting method using a thermite reaction for the well plugging operation. This work presents a new study, for the creation of a laboratory bench hydraulic system for the filtration of aluminum oxide, which is one of the thermite compounds. In this hydraulic system, some technical modifications are made to adapt a filtration system for aluminum oxide filtration, which will be available in a solution composed of aluminum oxide and water in different concentrations. This new technology, after being studied in a laboratory, will be applied as a solution for projects for the permanent abandonment of an oil well. The laboratory bench work consists of studying the feasibility of the technique for using aluminum oxide filtration, studying its ow variables such as flows and pressures, study the characterization of the hydraulic filter and verify the physical characteristics of the aluminum oxide filtered after the filtering process. |
